Welcome to LaStone Therapy Australia

....the original hot and cold stone massage - in Spas throughout the world.

Created by Mary Nelson Mary Nelson from Tucson, Arizona in 1993, LaStone Therapy is the Original Hot & Cold Stone treatment and is based on the traditional healing practices of Zen philosophies and Native American rituals.

LaStone® Therapy's form of bodywork involves the use of heated and cooled stones, Geo-Thermo-Therapy, applied to the body to bring about relief to tired and sore muscles, alleviating chronic and acute symptoms that many of us deal with on a daily basis. Thermo-Therapy makes LaStone a success, by combining its principles with the traditional healing practices of the Native American Indians. LaStone Therapy capitalises on these practices with a modern approach.

Hot and cold stones are used as tools to provide hot and cold 'messages' to the body. This 'vascular gymnastics' for the circulatory system assists the body's self-healing process. LaStone Therapy applies this principle throughout its training and practices. It is a massage treatment that goes beyond the normal parameters of therapy as we have previously known.

Clinically it is the application during massage therapy of heated stones with alternating chilled stones for a deep penetrating effect on the human being's physiological systems. Using different temperatures, whether heated or chilled, on the body to bring about certain healing responses has been done for countless eons.

LaStone is the Original, we are the hot and cold stone massage pioneers. We are at the leading edge of research and development of the therapeutic application of hot and cold stones to the body. Our training programme is second to none, recognised and taken up by many of the world's leading spa operators and therapy providers.

LaStone® Therapy Benefits

It is a multifaceted technique designed to benefit client and therapist at once. The therapeutic potential of this treatment is beyond measure. The physiological benefits of alternating hot and cold to the body have long been scientifically and medically proven.

Clinically it is the application during massage therapy of heated stones with alternating cooled stones for a deep penetrating effect on our physiological systems. Applying different temperatures on the body helps bring about natural healing responses, known to have been used throughout many ancient cultures. LaStone Therapy uses alternating temperatures to bring about healing, balance and rejuvenation. Furthermore, it aids the balancing of all levels of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual energies, often unlocking emotions and memories that may be latent in the body, and thus facilitating remembrance and acknowledgement. The therapy brings about alternately sedative and energizing responses to the body. Clients love the potent charge they receive in the treatment. They seem to be in a reverie or deep meditative state by the end of the massage.

This advancement in therapeutic massage is not only for the benefit of the client, but also the therapist as it helps against strain and injury to the wrists and thumbs (RSI), by preventing hyper flexion and hyperextension. The stones and thermal variation do the heavy work for you as well as bring their energies into the treatment. Therapists discover that the stress and strain to their hands, wrists and arms are virtually eliminated by using our technique. They are able to work more efficiently for longer periods of time.

Therapists trained in LaStone benefit from a more developed reverence in their daily rituals, through growing respect and appreciation of the learning experience. Your business will also benefit beyond tangible considerations and the word of mouth approval from satisfied clients will enhance your reputation considerably.
